Old racing bike brake levers Raleigh Winner

I'm new to the bike world, but have got an old Raleigh winner bike, trying to restore it but cant get the brake levers off. i need help!!

Pictures would help, but here is a guess.

Remove the brake cables, then pull the lever to the max brake position, and look down between the lever and the housing from the front, under where the cable goes; you should see a screw. Loosen this, and the levers should slid off.

Also, Tektro dual pivot side pull brakes will bring your stopping distances into the 21st century - best upgrade that I made to my commuter, went from scary long to calm.
