Watering eyes
#1
Hi guys
Here's a couple of questions for you all:-
I have really watery eyes at the best of times and when i am riding my bike my eyes really pour! I do wear prescription glasses and also have prescription sunglasses. I can manage easily without my specs and have thought about safety glasses which are pretty much 'wrap around'.

next q is my helmet has a visor but this does absolutely nothing to keep the sun out of my eyes and without a visor to shade them my sunglasses are pretty useless (a baseball cap under my helmet would be a little bulky methinks!

Anyone have any ideas on these probs please?

It could be allergies. Take a pill??

In my case the trouble began several years ago with a sinus infection. Doctor cleared that up and I irrigate nasal passages very occasionally. Gross. Still get watery eyes when cycling but only in cold weather.

On sunglasses, when cycling, I long ago started using plastic sunglasses that wrap around and over my prescription eyeglasses. They give great wind screening but are somewhat dangerous when it comes to peripheral vision, so I have mixed feelings about them. I don't always use them. Walgreens sells them, $20.00 per pair, come in two sizes.

I was about to suggest the same thing.

My eyes water like crazy on the MTB, when the wind whistles past my face my eyes water and I go blind.

I keep my goggles with me when I go off road now so when it comes to the descents I can still see where I'm going.

In Florida, I have more of an issue with a watery nose than watery eyes. Right about now, the pollen count is very high and it gets hard to breathe when your nose starts running. Breathing through your mouth to compensate tires you out much faster. I wish the vegetation would hurry up and finish their pollination so I can get some decent rides in.

Great! Are they ugly or are they stylish? (this is soooo important!) How's the peripheral vision?
