Cassette Problems?
#1
Hi, I was doing a little bit of maintenance on my bike today, and I think I may have found a problem. It's a 2010 Specialized FSR that is a couple of months old, with about 500 miles on it.

When i took the rear wheel off, I noticed that the 3 high gear sprockets were loose enough that I can wiggle them about 1/8 of an inch.

The bicycle is still under warranty, and I was going to take my bike to the shop for a normal tune up, but I wanted to make sure if this was a warranty issue, or a regular wear and tear thing.

Any help would be appreciated!

You pretty much answered your own question. Definitely take it back to get the bike replaced or fixed. 500 miles is not much at all. Just my opnion as warranties are nice to have and might as well use them while they are in effect Wink
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Take it back but the cassette probably just needs tightening. It's not unusual for a new cassette to come loose but ask for the teeth of the "freehub" to be checked.

Thanks for the input! I dropped it off today, and he said it would be no cost! :-)
