My last couple of rides I've been having issues with my front derailleur. I've tightened up some of the slack in the cable. Now when I try to shift to the 3rd chainring, the chain gets stuck in the guard on the outside of the chainring. Also, when I shift from the 3rd chainring to the 2nd, it takes about 8-12 pedal strokes to catch.
My level of expertise is changing out tubes and tires (tyres on the other side of the pond!
) and adjusting the brake cables as well as basic setup and assembly. What should I be looking for? Also, should I consider replacing the cable? Yes, it is a Grip Shift setup.
BTW, my ride is a GMC Denali 21 speed if that helps. It also has Shimano derailleurs both front and back.
