Ultegra triple ringing on middle chain ring
#1
Please help! If anyone have experience with problem named in subject.
So, I bought a new road bike with all ultegra components, and I have problem when i drive on middle chain ring Its always produce some noise, ringing. it doesn't matter if I push hard or not, its happen on bought pedals, and never mind where is chain positioned on cassette. Like I said everything is new, 800km . As I look, I think that is possible that the chain pinning on pins who pulling chain on higher chain ring. Is there I cure??

Sorry on bad english, I'm from Croatia

Hi kkramko,

It sounds like an adjustment issue. Take a look at these videos and follow the steps to make sure your derailleurs are adjusted:

Hi
Thanks for your replay, but isn't not problem in adjustment, i'm 100% sure. everything with changing speeds works perfect. And like I said, this noise appears only on middle ring, on smallest or biggest everything work normal without strange sounds.

Check that you have the correct size chain for you bike.
If it's a 9 or 10 speed bike then make sure the chain is suitable and not too wide.
Make sure the front derailleur is clear of the chain as well.
Ride hard or ride home alone!

What kind of shifters do you have? Does your FD shifter have the "trim" function? I have been trying to get perfect operation from my FSA Gossamer triple for a year now. I can get it close but that is the best that can be done. Double cranks are so much nicer to work on! cUK is right--can you tell us what letters and numbers you see on your chain?

+1 on the double cranks. This is not the first time that I hear of Shimano triples being a bit noisy...

No, sorry. Just people complaining. I also don't really know the reason for the noise (but would love to find out), maybe it is something really straightforward that I haven't thought of.
