Unless your are set on trying to resurrect your old rear derailleur, get a Shimano TX55. You need to know if you need a bracket mount:

Or a direct mount:

They can be found for less than $20- on Amazon. The TX55 will operate far smoother than your Huret ever could.

If you post pictures, we can tell you immediately. As Dave noted, replace the cable and housing now also.
