Titanium frame welding - Bonding

Hello all.
I have a bicycle Wheeler from 1996 full suspension and It's from titanium, and need to glue ore weld?!?! I have weld the pipe that was broken from jumping , now I should put his pipe with another pipe, so I asked experienced biker to help me and tell me what should I do.I need to weld (paste) i think these are two materials the titanium and zinc ....

so with wich glue should I glue this, on the bike is some yellow glue...

welding titanium is tricky; and not something to try without the proper equipment, and training.

zinc ?? heavy and not strong.

The best structural adhesive that I have worked with is 3M DP460 - it is expensive, and you need an applicator and static mixing tubes

Over $100 USD just to get started. This is the same stuff used to bond jet airplanes together. It should be cured at room temperature for 24 hours, then heated to 60°C for 2 to 4 hours to achieve maximum strength.

which will be lighter and stronger than a repaired titanium frame.

Tube of titanium is already welded with TIG ...now I should have put this titanium pipe with the tube with gray material zinch (on the top). No problem I will buy the glue (I gave $ 70 for the welding of titan tube : D) ... Since you have already done and you are the expert in this,can you only explain me the process of bonding with this glue. I would be grateful...

Once it has been welded you should be done. Welds (if done correctly) are strong.

Once a guy (who is an expert hired by insurance companies to assess this kind of stuff) told me that maybe one in a hundred experienced welders can do (high quality) steel bike frames, of those one in a hundred can do aluminium, and of those not one in a thousand should be allowed to do titanium bike frames. He might be exaggerating a bit, though. Nigel can comment on the difficulties of the materials involved.
@Nigel: So I could do a lugged steel frame with this "glue"? I shouldn't try soldering it (much less weld it).

If understand correctly, starting from scratch, and using 3M DP460 instead of brazing - in both cases with lugs. Yes; but in that case; I would not let it sit for more than hour before taking it up to 60°C (140°F). The DP460 is rather viscous at room temperature, and turns to water a bit before 60°C before curing. With the lugs, you'll want it to flow nicely into the joints - just like brazing. You will go through $100- or more (plus dispensing tools) making one frame.

If you want to do it; roughen the ends of the tubes and inside of the lugs with 800 grit or so sand paper (you want very very fine grooves); clean the tubes and lugs with solvent (91% isopropyl alcohol is fine); fit the whole frame up; warm it to 35C or so; take it apart; dispense the epoxy through the static mixer; apply a very thin coating to the inside of the lugs; re-assemble, and slowly (over the course of an hour or so) heat to 60C. Leave at 60C for several hours. Let it drop to room temperature over the course of an hour or so. Clean up the epoxy that leaked out of the joints.

I cleaned the pipes whit sandpapers. and cleaned them with acetone. and put glue and then pressed, and It hold perfectly , I went for a ride but..

I need titanium coating now,to put new paint. The coating is working on 120*C, so can I do it whit that glue on my bike, that would not disconnect the tube ??????

DP460 will with stand well over 300°C

DP460 will with stand well over 300°C

THAT IS perfect, the master told me that he has to put powder on it and then put it into the chamber for 30 minutes at 120 * C to bake paint ... He doesn't know if it should hold, i need to ask someone....
