Verification method impedes site operation
#1
@Nicholas
I can no longer post on the site or send messages due to a verification snafu while logged in.

This should only need to be done when creating an account.

Meassage received after rejection: "Too long..."

Why did I need to confirm my account when first established, why do I need my email or username to sign in, and why do I need a password to sign in? And why, after doing all of that do I need to be verified for every post, reply, and/or message while spending more time waiting for verification than the time it takes to submit content only to be told that the submission is invalid?

Edit: the perverse issue is that this post was accepted without that same verifcation process? Why? I readily assumed that it would also be rejected so now I will try again with fingers crossed to see if a message or reply is accepted without any verification.

2nd edit: After attempting various methods to post a reply I was forced to break it down into 5 sections (each section being of inconsistent length) with each entry being rejected or accepted regardless of whether it longer or shorter than the a previous entry. All sections were still parsed into the original post making one very long post as it would have originally appeared if accepted as a single submission instead of multiple submissions.

Sorry about the technical issues everyone, and thanks for letting us know @Jesper and @GirishH. A couple of functions broke as we were working on new security settings to combat a lot of new AI bot traffic that we have been getting in the last couple of months. The technical issues should however have been fixed around 2-3 weeks ago, and there shouldn't be any extra verification or login needed as you use the forum. Everything should now work as before.

Is anyone still experiencing issues with this? You can also send an email to me at [email protected] if you have any issues logging in or posting.

You can click "New Reply" (not "Quick Reply") and add images using the "Attachments" function (click "Choose file"). It means you don't need to use a hosting website to share photos (the images are saved on our server). See more information here: https://forums.bikeride.com/thread-6141.html

@Rasmus, recently attaching pictures (especially on mobile phones) still seems to be a technical issue. Many a times, the upload don't go through successfully. Could you please take a look into that.

We don't seem to have the same issue on our end (tested on mobile as well). We however made some changes now, could you please check if this solved the issues for you?

If not, could you explain a bit more in detail what happens when you try to upload an image? Does it give an error message (if so, what does it say?) or do you need to go through verification when you try to upload the image? Also, do you know if the images you upload are very large in size (for example if you use "RAW" images on your phone)? Did you use to be able to upload images on your phone without issues before?
