'Breaking Away'
#1
Does anyone here remember the classic cycling film 'Breaking Away' made so many years ago? I was just thinking of that film, and how good it was. A modern remake would be great! I'm gonna look for the original film here at the local library, where they have a large DVD collection. Maybe they can borrow it from another library, if they don't actually have it here. I set up my TV this weekend (still gotta hook up the rooftop dish antenna), and I had the foresight to check out some other classic films... hey, free DVDs, I can use the entertainment, lol. Funny thing, there were some classic old bikes in 'The Quiet Man'---including that tandem rig. I owned two tandem bikes in the past, they were heaps of fun! Cool

P.S. 'The Duke' scored negative points when he dumped the tandem in the dirt at the side of the road, lol... Confused

Which begs the question: does anybody make tandem ebikes? I wonder if those are even feasible... I'm behind the times with ebikes, same way I'm behind the times with Big Tech BS, lol. If I had my druthers, I'd still be sending smoke signals with a Mexican blanket, lol. Wink

Well, gotta get on with the errands, there's a break in the cloudy & rainy weather and I'm on a mission to buy a new shelf unit or dresser for storage purposes. I'm also in the process of widening the windowsills for the cats, gotta style out the kitties and keep 'em happy! Smile

Crackhead-approved! [That's my cat Crackhead in the first pic, lol.] Here are other sill shots... Big Grin

And another one of my "supervisors" on the job! Cool

Heck yeah, I remember "Breaking Away", it wasn't well acted, and it was a bit campy (not the components), but it was fun to watch. I kind of liked "Premium Rush" better.

I hear ya, Froze! I liked the film despite the cheesy elements, lol... and I couldn't name a single actor, except for one of the Quaid Brothers (?), and the main character's dad whose name I do not know, but I've seen him before in other films. Huh

Hey, Girish, I took a hike yesterday in one of the "roadless areas" of the Gila National Forest, it was a fun excursion on foot! I posted some pics at frugalvillage.com, just check the latest posts and look for "Gallinas Canyon" in the thread title! CHEERS! Cool
