šŸš“ā€ā™‚ļø Saddle Up for the Belgian Waffle Ride CA! 🌊
#1
Alright, you kasseien-crushing winnaars, it’s time to saddle up for BWR California, the OG, the granddaddy, the one that started it all! Expect soul-snapping climbs, bone-rattling dirt sectors, and enough suffering to make you question your love for two wheels—all rewarded with waffles, Lost Abbey brews, and the glory of finishing. If you think you’ve got the legs (and the lack of self-preservation) to survive this brutal buffet of pavement, dirt, and madness, then quit stalling and sign up now. The waffles won’t eat themselves, but the course just might eat you.
Register now before you regret it: https://www.bikereg.com/belgian-waffle-ride-california-2025

When: April 26-27, 2025
Where: Del Mar, California
What: The most infamous, diabolical Unroad event returns to the birthplace of suffering. Ride where legends have been made, from the coast to the mountains, across pavement, singletrack, sand pits, and kasseien.

Three Routes, Maximum Carnage:
Waffle: The full, leg-breaking adventure—only for the true Flandriens.
Wafer: A slightly less cruel but still soul-destroying version.
Wanton: A bite-sized taste of the madness, perfect for first-timers or those who want to make it to the waffles before they run out.

Why Ride?
The course will test every skill you have (and expose the ones you don’t).
The beer and waffles taste better when you’ve earned them through suffering.
It’s not a race; it’s a rite of passage.

Don’t get dropped before the start line—spots are limited. Sign up now and secure your place in cycling infamy.

See you in California, where the Unroad began.

Oh, it’s absolutely insane—that’s the whole point. If it were sensible, it wouldn’t be worth doing. But trust me, somewhere between the suffering and the syrup-drenched salvation at the finish, you’ll realize: insanity is underrated. šŸ˜

Distance is just an Unroad waiting to be conquered. šŸ˜‰ Plenty of winnaars have crossed state lines (and sanity thresholds) to chase waffles and glory.
With BWR now wreaking havoc in multiple states—California, Arizona, Utah, North Carolina, and more—there’s always a chance to get in on the madness. Who knows, maybe fate—or sheer waffle cravings—will bring you to a start line one day. šŸš“ā€ā™‚ļø šŸāœØ"

Thanks, @BWR. Have you participated in this ride before? I agree that sanity is under-rated.

Have fun and share some pictures from the event. Currently, I am too far away ( India)., so unable to join..:-(

Absolutely—I’ve ridden BWR CA plenty, and had a hand in shaping the course itself. Every twist, trail, and sector? Been there, felt that.

It’s not your typical ride—it’s a full-spectrum Unroad adventure. One moment you’re gliding through singletrack, next you’re hammering sand pits, dancing over rocks, and suddenly back on smooth asfalt like nothing happened. Pure kasseien chaos.

This year’s course is a spicy 106.5 miles—less climbing, more sting, with trails that’ll test both skill and spirit. And the new Del Mar Polo Fields start/finish? Chef’s kiss.

Maybe next time you’ll line up and see for yourself—because some things are better experienced than explained. šŸš“ā€ā™‚ļøšŸŒŸ
