Operation of Santa Monica Ebike

Hello - new owner with an How to Operate the bike question.

Hopefully, this is easily answered

I Bought this bike a few weeks ago - Tested many bikes and finally landed on this particular Santa Monica.
However, got busy with Christmas shopping, Life, and not so great weather days distracted me from riding.

I also test drove so many that I forgot how to operate it.... I "thought" I remembered, but when watching videos and looking at the instruction manual, even a simple review of the parts/buttons is lacking as the pictures seem different then what I have.... And on all the videos I watched, they seem to be Generic Ramblling and not basic operation.

I know how to connect the fully charged battery, turn on the computer, pedal the bike and shift gears, however when I am riding and I press the up arrow, the motor never seems to do anything.
It has Shimano parts... It's an Aima bike brand new.... and the computer is Bafang.

Here is what I have been doing, Turning the computer on, pedalling the bike and then pressing the up and down arrows to try to change the boost level... however, this does not change the # on the computer and seems to do nothing.

Any suggestions? I will post a picture in a moment

I've never even heard of a Santa Monica before. Is it this one?

Yes, that is the one ! We tested several different bikes at the shop.... and this one just felt more comfortable and more responsive.

I got it fixed ! I reseated the cable that was going into the computer and it works like a champ!

Pressing the buttons you've described may increase/decrease the amount of assist, but typically, you need to activate the throttle independently to provide the desired assistance.

I'm not familiar with your bike, but the throttle can be activated like a motorcycle, from the handlebar grip, by rotating it forwards or backwards.

Otherwise, the throttle may be another lever, switch, or button that you need to locate.
