Trike riders are good citizens
#1
While riding a trike, we are close to the ground, and can see junk that will cause flat tires on both bikes and cars. Trikers can ride right by nails, screws, a any think bad on streets and roads. It is easy to pick up this junk and save someone problems. I do this all them time, and think other trikers do the same.

Thanks for helping out!! I am usually going too fast to see the debris, or there is so much that I cannot realistically clean it up other than to "sweep" it off of the main travel areas.
I assume you are riding a recumbent trike.

@rydabent, Thanks for being a good citizen. Because I ride a bicycle, it's usually harder to stop safely to pick up or move things off the road. Having said that, I do move rocks or branches that have fallen on the bike path/trail, as they could lead to crashes or incidents.

But, I pick up trash or plastic when I go on hikes, and due to OCD, I end up collecting tons of trash. So, on days when I have a destination in mind, I avoid picking up or cleaning the trail. Similarly, while biking I avoid starting to pick because I am afraid that I will not get too far..:-(

Yes a recumbent Trike. It is easy to touch the ground, all I have to do is stop or ride slow, to pick up what can be dangerous trash. A couple of times, I have ridden by and replaced cast iron pipe covers laying in the road.

Besides the trash I have removed from the streets and trails, I have found good stuff. I found a wallet with over $2000 in it and that got me a $50 reward. I also found a back pack with an Apple laptop in it, that belonged to a College professor. No reward at all.
