Hello eds7, like Painkiller I too only use my phone (Google Pixel 4a). Now, I am tempted to get a GoPro. Dislike the idea of monetizing/publicizing something I enjoy so much but starting to slowly think that others should also witness landscapes and beautiful encounters I haves...Still completely torn though..

I dropped my phone and had to wait almost 4 days without a replacement, still have not figured out how to hold my phone while riding my fixed gear bicycle about my new Oregon location. I always stop riding now to take a bicycle ride photo, as I am trying to avoid dropping the older Samsung phone again.

Wonderful temperatures here, and I smile as I see the temperatures my friends in Las Vegas are already suffering. I had to move as I did not want to endure any more 115+ days this summer. I miss the non rain vegas, but everything is green and cooler, and the roads do not have much traffic in this small town...

I am glad that you are enjoying scenic Oregon. It was Oregon that introduced me to long-distance riding and got me hooked. At that time, I borrowed my cousin's bike and rode to the Seaside by Tillamook. :-) Attached are pictures of the same borrowed bike when I rode it to Seattle, again from Hillsboro, OR.

I do not use my phone while riding. I always stop to use it. So, if I were to make a video, then I surely would use a phone holder.

Enjoy beautiful and green Oregon.

If you're just using it for photos, I think your phone should be enough. But if you wanted something to start bike vlogging or you dont want to always bring your phone up every time, I think you should get an action camera.

Check out Insta360 go3 camera. Quite cheap, small and does not need a chest strap if you want a good POV camera. If you want a full blown action cam, I recommend either Gopro 12 or Insta360 Ace.
