Help me choose an electric long-tail bike
#1
Lightbulb
Hi all! I want to buy an electric cargo bike. The main purpose of the purchase: often I need to transport things or bring children to kindergarten, but the price of gasoline, to put it mildly, upsets me. I want to try an alternative to a car and buy a cargo bike.

So far, my choice has fallen on a cargo bike https://ferlafamilybikes.com/products/ferla-cargo-bike-longtail (i want a long-tail bike, with rear loading).

I repeat the main criteria:
1. Electric
2. It is possible to transport things and passengers
3. The bike should be long-tail
4. Convenient bike storage
5. Comfortable commute

What do you think? Advise something from yourself, I want to see more options. Thank you!

I saw a friend recommend a Benno for transporting small children, a while back. I'll do some research on other options, but take a look at this. It's a benno boost E

Research if parts are available if something fails, and how much the parts cost.

With some electric bikes, you can't get parts. With others the parts are very expensive.

Read what others who have bought bikes like this have said.

I don't know the precise details of your situation, but I have set up my mountain bike so it could do what you are talking about. I have made a large carrier rack for the back. It could carry 2 kindergarten children, or reasonable sized objects. I could attach a large crate for shopping.

If it turns out a large carrier rack on a mountain bike would do all you need, you may get an electric mountain bike cheaper than a cargo bike.

A mountain bike is smaller, and it is often easier to find a place to park it.

As I say, I don't know the precise details of your situation. This idea may not suit you.

It is obviously an advantage if someone can make their own, or have a family member or friend, who can make it inexpensively. If you make your own, you can make it how you like. Look at ideas on the internet, and use some of them in your own design.
