Odds for the elite race point out four favorites. 2019 gotta be MVDP's year, ahh?

- van der Poel
- Sagan Smile)
- Alaphilippe
- Gilbert

MVDP did the Primus Classic with almost 200km of racing (finished in 19th position) and after that still went for a 100km training ride Big Grin I get that it's for testing the distance in +/- 285km range.

from Cycling Today: "I was able to test my legs and it felt good. It was just a matter of getting the distance in the legs. I think it’s important to ride once in the region of 300 kilometres. I didn’t get that at the Tour of Britain. This was the ideal day for it, and it’s how I did it for the Classics”

Close miss for Martin and the team Germany today, but they still came through with a historical silver medal Wink

What do you guys think of this mixed TT concept being introduced @ worlds?

Wow, wanted to take a look at Yorkshire technical guide and noticed that TTT mixed relay winners or all 10 participants scooped €167,000 (around $180,000) out of 239,250 (around $260,000) total money prize for the whole event.

Well, there are understandably more individuals than in individual events, but still .... aren't these numbers a bit scewed or unfair?

The full guide is here. Prize money on page 17.

That's a bit odd. I've checked last year's money pot and the distribution looks very similar. Onc difference - last year there were commercial teams participating instead of mixed national teams. They'd probably argue that individuals are not competing for the sake of prize money, but for the rainbow jersey and the eternal glory.

It was painful to watch this! Luckily no one got seriously injured.

Title defense for Dennis - check. Prepared himself well after the TDF, was a very confident performance.

Beautiful solo win for Simmons! Attacked 20 miles from the finish line and never looked back! And Magnus Sheffield takes the bronze Smile

Hours after the finish Trek-Segafredo announced signing Quinn, which is great. If we look at his JR results this season, it's quite impressive: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/quinn-simmons

And another victory for USA junior team! 0_0
The USA medal count so far after today's women junior, co-leading the medal table with The Netherlands: 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze!

Quoting VeloNews article: "Michael Garrison, one of Team USA’s domestiques, said the season of racing together in Europe is what allowed Team USA to execute its plan"

It happened 100km+ before the finish line, and I don't get why they didn't take him off earlier. Guys to this all the time in the races without getting penalised. I guess this was an act of UCI teaching a lesson? He still won the gold in my eyes.

Oh wow, who would have predicted this?!?
23 year old Pedersen ... three Danes in TOP12, they must be used to such weather Big Grin MVDP finished 43rd, Alaphilippe 28th, Gilbert DNF. Only Sagan was close.
