Seized bike stem?
#1
Hiya, on tour at the moment. Realising from hand and wrist pins that my flat bars are a bit low for me. I opened the little cap and undid the hex bolt, but the stem seems to have seized to the frame. Any tips on unseizing it without damaging it?

Someone suggested wd40, which I don’t have. Would regular chain lube (tf2 all weather) overnight work?

hello. did you already try something yesterday? i haven't had to deal with such issue, but from what i can remember some of my friends have mentioned ACF50 and acid rust removals, but I guess that you might not have them with ... just remember that, once you apply lubes, other potential problem solvers (liquidy-like) will have problems interacting with those already applied lubes.

For an old fashioned stem (with the wedge below) : open the bolt, give it a whack (rest a piece of wood on it to not damage it).
