Hi there guys! I am planning to get a Peloton Bike to be fit. Is this a good idea? What do you think?

hi, how did you come up with such plan? do those trainer bikes come with all the instructor classes - like in the gym?
back in the days i bought a road bike and got a simple turbo trainer for bad-weather-days, it eventually helped me to loose around 30 pounds and i haven't looked back ever since. i would always choose fresh air over trainers, but preferences are individual though. therefore i'm curious about the reasoning behind considering these peloton bikes.

I'd spend the money that would go into a Peloton bike on an actual road bike. You can pick up an indoor spinning bike or recumbent off craigslist for $100 and use that for indoor riding as needed. My personal cut off is 40 degrees and cloudy. That's when I ride my indoor recumbent while watching youtube. But, I will say this... I applaud and support your personal choices that will lead to being fit. If that means buying a Peloton bike, then go for it.

Too expensive for my taste. I have similar opinion to @"J_R_Schultz" ... get a reasonably priced road bike and use it for indoors as well. I always prefer biking outdoors in fresh air and move to turbo trainer once the winter is too much for me and the bike. But that is just what I prefer, these Peloton bikes definitely work for other people. "What works for some, doesn't work for others" or smth like that Smile

Well, if you have enough money to get one, then why not. It is a good tool for home workouts.

As always, it depends on what your needs and expectations are. This bike might be a great purchase if you want to save time from going to the gym.
You will be able to do a full-scale workout at home and strengthen your body. I can recommend this for the people who have sitting jobs and have back issues because of it. I would also recommend getting some peloton weights to forget about the gym forever.
I would recommend this to the people who want to work out but have no time for a gym or for people with social anxiety who just want to stay home.

The trick of Peloton is that it allows you to recreate the tension of training in the gym.

I also wanted to ask - can you use Rouvy or other than Zwift indoor cycling apps with Peloton?
