Opinions on my hubbys new bike
#1
Hi.

So me and hubby want to start bike riding to start getting fit. We cant afford new so have been searching through second hand sites. We wanted to spend as littlw as possible at first in case we dont like it, then if we get into it we can upgrade! Anyway, Im yet to get mine but we got one for hubby today. By the sounds of it the seller said its been put together from different parts. So I have took a photo of the entire bike, the frame name, the handle bar, the wheels and odd bits. Let me know what you think please? Many thanks

He also needs to know how to change to handle bara from the flat racing position to a more upright position. On the side there are 2 holes for alan keys, when I put 1 alan key in and try and turn It, it wont turn at all. Do i have to put 2 alan keys in at the same time on opposite sides?

Just me to get a bike now!

normally those stems have a bolt on the under side of the stem supporting a toothed gusset. loosen that until you get the stem to move up and down, set it and lock back in place. The bolts on the side that you have pictured are only preset pivot bolts and should not be jacked with. You will then need to adjust the handle bars to suit also.

Just looked underneath and have seen what you mean. And stuck my alan key in and turned and handbar can now be put in upright position!!! Brilliant!!!!!!!! Thanks so much!! He felt like he was leaning too far forward with them laid flat. Maybe you can tell from the photo his arms are very stretched. This will be better.

Please, check the serial number of your bike against BikeIndex.org.  Make sure you're not riding someone's stolen bike.

Bloke we bought it from was a police officer! How ironic would that be! We have however since sold this bike and bought a new one.
