Difference between a slick and semi-slick tyre?
#1
Can someone tell me the difference between 700 x 23c slick and semi-slick tyres? I see some racing bikes with small tread and I see some with no tread at all.

Thank you

the norm is "slick" has no tread, "semi-slick" may have some type of grooves or outside edge knobbies. depends on the manufacturer and how they decide to label them also. Some manufacturer's call them slicks but still have mild grooves also.

The more tire on the road the more comfortable the ride. semi slick may have a larger cross section on the road for the same tire size.
