Need to replace a RD-TZ30 drlr
#1
Hi, I need to replace and old broken RD-TZ30 drlr 7 speed.

Does anyone know if the Shimano Acera M360 7-8 Speed would be an ok replacement?

It is for an old (but much loved) Schwinn Jaguar beach cruiser.

Thanks!

First question: is there a hanger for the RD on the frame of the bike?

If yes; any Shimano top-normal RD, 9 speed or less will work.

If there is not a hanger as part of the frame; then you need a RD with a claw hanger.

I would suggest a Shimano TX55 with or without hanger as being much better than the original TZ30. The M360 will work if the frame has an integral hanger.

FYI - if the TZ30 is original, the bike can't be that old as that derailleur has not been around that long. My newest bike is 1995; oldest 1976.
