Replacing a french BB
#1
It's probably been asked before but is there a replacement bottom bracket to update this spindle to one with a JIS taper? The bike appears to be of French manufacture... Peugot? I'm thinking of the Shimano UN-55 / UN-26 BB but need one that will fit the French treads. The goal is to replace the crankset.

Mike; are you sure that it has French threads? Many French bikes had English threads (now the standard).

Here is a BB for French threads:

nfmisso, thanks for taking interest. French bikes with English treads? I never would have guessed. Well, I'll just have to pull off those crank arms and take a closer look. If they're English, I'm set with a BB and crankset waiting. Thanks for the link to a BB for French threads.
