hi all,

my first post here.

i decided i needed a little project so i boughta 1968 Hercules with a 21" frame. it will be a surprise for my daughter.

I'd like to replace the parts shown in the pics with new ones. When i took it apart all the bearings fell out. i wonder if i could replace the bearings with caged ones?

what are the names of these parts please?

thanks
zac

It is acceptable to replace with single bearings instead of caged ( stronger ). clean and check the races for pits, if good, buy new bearings, grease and assemble when ready.
If you choose to replace the headset it will come with bearings

ok thanks. please see the pic for the parts that belong to the upper racer.

i was thinking that i'd replace these racers anyway as the chrome is damaged and i'd like the bike to look as nice as possible when its completed.
