Washer for Pashley
#1
Hey all,

One of the washers on my Pashley has worn out. More specifically the teeth have, and it's causing the wheel to go out of alignment when I sit on the bike as it slips. (Or so I believe, I'm quite new to this)

I have a picture of the washer (http://i.imgur.com/gCrSzlU.jpg), does anyone know where I'd be able to purchase a replacement in the UK?

I've looked on google but I'm having difficulty finding the specific type of washer as I don't really know what it's called.

Thanks in advance!

You could contact pashley direct at http://www.pashley.co.uk/ or use their store finder to find a shop nearby that carries them.
It's probably called an "anti-rotation washer" and you would want one specific to the brand of rear hub you have, not necessarily to Pashley. (Probably Sturmey-Archer or Shimano)

The washer doesn't look that bad. I would be concerned that either the threads on the axle nut or the axle itself are damaged and are not holding the wheel on tightly enough. When you tighten the axle nut, does it get good and snug or does it spin? The washer can't do it's job if the nut isn't tight.

Hey Dave, thanks for the reply. Anti-rotation washer seems to be the one.

The picture is of the other washer that's still ok. The one that's damaged has it's teeth worn down. The threads on the axles are ok, I checked these and there wasn't any damage.

I'll see if I can get a new washer and try that.

Thanks again!
