Tyre Size

Hi hope someone can help me?

Have a Boardman Hybrid fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700 x 28c tyres. Want to have a second set of faster wheels, with slicks. Can I put a different width , ie a 23c or 25c and any recommendations truly appreciated

It would be nice to know how wide a rim you are using,
. For me I would stick with the 700x25. the 23s are pretty small. It would give you more meat for un smooth roads or trails. High pressure 28s would suffice too and give more protection from bad surfaces

There's a large difference in the "speed" (actually resistance) of various tires. But width is not a good indicator. Don't get skinny tires, get fast tires.
