I would install a Shimano M413 on it. I am very happy with the one that I have on my GT. It is rated to 48T, but should be okay with 50T. Mine came from Crosslakesales on eBay. I made my own shims (for both my GT and SR) to fit the 34.9mm FDs on the 28.6mm seat post. Commercial shims are available.

The M413 can be used top or bottom pull, is very inexpensive, is very easy to set up and shifts very well.

Avoid the M412.

The 2203 and R443 look good to, and no shim needed.
