New: Take Part in the October Giveaway to Win the Qiolor TIGER Retro Electric Bike

Warranty
#1
I bought a left over 2009 Raleigh Circa 2.0. Ive had it about 2 weeks. It was parked on level cement and just fell over and bent the brake lever.
It has Tektro brakes. I'm guessing Warranty will not cover a new brake lever but thought I might ask.
I live in Iowa where I don't think the law demands it be covered.
Can any one tell me if it should be covered?

The original side stand broke right away (1st day) and the stand it fell off was a rear mount Greenfield. Ive never had that happen before

Generally, warranties cover manufacturing defects, not damage from use/misuse. I think the only possible case would be if you could show that the 2nd kickstand failed due to a defect and that caused the brake lever damage.

That all said, most shops try to be helpful. You likely get a free tune-up or adjustments for a little while as most new bikes need this. They might be willing to do the labor to replace the lever as part of this free service, but asking them to give you a new part is probably beyond what they're willing to do. Unfortunately, kickstands generally suck (except the nice double leg ones.)

That is what I figured.

Turns out though the Greenfield was defective. Just a little nudge to the rear of the bike and it would fold up which is what happened. The bike shop where I bought the stand gave me another and solved the problem.
