Winter Clothing - Hat or Cap
#1
Hello everyone that cold time of year is here again and I am going to break down each piece of clothing into a different post to get everyone's opinion.

What kind of hat or cap would you recommend (Manufacturer,Model)?
How warm does it keep you?
Do you feel constricted when wearing it?
Does it effect your riding experience/comfortableness?
Any other comments?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

I wear a helmet with a "skull" cap under it. Thin material which also covers my ears.
Similar to this:- http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=24729

If the weather is not to cold and there is low sun about.
Then I will wear a cycling peaked hat under the helmet:-

The peak helps to keep the low sun out of my eyes. Sunglasses are O.K. but vision is severely restricted in the shadows of hedges, etc.

The reason for the helmet is I have come off on black ice a couple of years ago. No idea it was there until I was sliding along the road.
Other times the road surface is frosty where the sun hasn't shone.
Ride hard or ride home alone!

I would try a synthetic light cap. i wear a light North Face cap, not wind proof. Wind proof if its really nasty out, but I sweat a lot so wind proof doesn't let my head breath. When I warm up, I lose my hat first. I also like a synthetic or light fleece braclava. The braclava is actually one of my favorites cause it prevents wind down my neck and covers the entire face. A adjustable helmet, ALWAYS.
