"Raleigh" tires
#1
Here's something you probably won't find . . . original "Raleigh" tires from the late 1970s. Just thought you might enjoy seeing one since they probably should been replaced 20 years ago or so. This project-bike was obviously sitting in a garage for the last 25 years or so.

Those certainly bring back memories for me, Steve. I had them on my candy apple-red 1974 Raleigh Grand Prix. That was the first bike I ever bought for myself, and the one I did my first centuries on.

What bike did you get these off of?

It's a 1978 Raleigh "Record Ace" I picked up last December for $50. Initially I was going to use it for parts, but after seeing that it has been sitting in a garage for many years, and finding key parts are pristine, (ie., it still has the Brooks saddle in good shape) . . . I decided to completely restore it, then sell it. I would like to keep it but the frame is too tall for me at 23.5 inches (33.5" stand over height) I've got short legs. Big Grin

Thanks,
Steve
