How to clean a bike for beginners (Foxter mtb 29er)
#1
Hello. I'm a beginner and I want to know how to clean a bike properly, do diagnostics test to make sure the group set is proper. And make sure my bike is pristine before and after every ride.
Bonus question, do you have any videos on foxter mtb 29ers on how to disassemble and reassemble parts of the bike?

Get yourself some microfiber clothes. Get yourself some 70% Isopropyl alcohol. This is a good place to start. Soak the towel and give the bike its initial wipe down. Then take a wet magic eraser and give it a second wipe down. Use a little pressure to get any marks off. Any dish liquid can work for a soapy wash. You can also get an auto wash liquid if you prefer. This is your wash down. Take a wet micro towel and give it the final wipe down, followed by a dry wipe with a fresh microtowel.

To clean the cassette, you'll need a long bristle brush. I usually use a detail brush and do a full clean with the brass or steel brush as necessary.

Whatever you do, don't wuss out being scared to get your hands dirty, and just spray the bike down with a hose.

I'd suggest getting an ultrasonic cleaner for the chain. That's going to save you a lot of trouble.

For basic touch up, some orange cleaner wipes will work wonders to keep the bike clean.

I have posted many times how to index a derailleur if you want to look through my posts.

I can see that we’re from the same country since you referenced a pretty much famous here brand, Joy Dishwashing Liquid or any Dishwashing soap will clean your drive train perfectly for very cheap, don’t buy the bike specific soaps trust me on this haha after you wash it just put lube on the chains again , any brand will do but personally I like the more expensive brands in terms of Lube or Wax

Hope this helps and welcome to bike ride.com forums
