For transportation, I'm currently sharing a vehicle with one of my family members right now and I'll sometimes ride my regular bike to work. I'm interested in e-bikes because I'm looking for an inexpensive way of getting to and from work in the summer or pick up a handful of groceries when the opportunity arises. There's also the ease of simple A to B travel that comes with e-bikes.

There's nothing in particular that I haven't researched myself on the topic, however there is one question that might be a bit off topic considering ownership of e-bikes. I know the classification of e-bikes regarding their wattage, but what I'm curious of is the interactions people here have had with law enforcement and if anyone was ever targeted for owning an e-bike despite it being perfectly legal where riding one?

@Clint, I am just unsure why you think e-bike to be inexpensive compared to your regular bike. Did you mean it's inexpensive compared to a vehicle? Personally, e-bikes come with their "baggage" compared to a regular bicycle.

And, currently e-bike market seems to be in flux. So, wondering loudly.....:-)

I meant inexpensive compared to a vehicle, guess I should have been a little more clear on that. And although I don't mind riding my regular bike to work, there are some days when I'm a little tirerd or sore and I feel that having an e-bike would help take the edge off, saving me some of my energy for when I get home. Also I'm well awere of most of the "baggages" that come with an e-bike and feel the benefit outweigh cons in my situation.
