Replacing my BB/crank
#1
I'm fairly new to bmx terminology so bare with me.

My old bottom bracket and crank was rusted and the threads were severely stripped so I decided to replace them. The new crank, spindle, and bearings I bought are all 19mm and the old ones are 22mm or something. I took the old bearing cups off the rusted bearings to use with my new ones, but they don't fit, so I'm assuming you have to buy new bearing cups specifically for the size of bearing? (I know this is probably a dumb question) And are all bearing cups the same circumference on the outside?

My other question is do I need to replace my sprocket or can I buy some sort of spacer to make my old one fit on my current spindle?

Do yourself a favor stop messing with rusty parts and get a shimono sealed UN 54 or like BB. Pod cup and bearing parts are getting impossible to find and not worth the trouble.

You do not say anything about the bike, so its hard to say what you need.

The sprocket I have was used on a 22mm spindle, so do I need a new sprocket or can I use the one I have with the 19mm spindle I just bought?

And I was just wondering if all bottom bracket shells are the same size.

No you cannot use a 22mm sprocket on a 19mm spindle. BB Shells vary and we still have no idea what your bike is like.

Suggest checking with your local bike dealer for correct parts.
