Bryton HB Mount Great Connection
#1
Hello, I wanted to mention this mount and post as a Bryton thread because I have heard some bad reviews and comments about Bryton connections as far as clicking into the 1/4 turn style mounts/inserts.

I have several mounts from Bryton. Inserts, Chinese mount models, insert replacements from several sources. But this one I received today from Ebay is the best ever!

I've had a hard time getting that good snap like I do with my Garmin. The original mount/insert works well but held on to the bars with one of those black rubber O ring types. I don't totally trust those after a few months worrying about rot. Though never happened to my Garmin mount when I first purchased it, I inspected it often, even lubed it to protect it from corrosion.

But got into aluminum mounts having a GoPro to record my rides. But could never get a good snap connection other than the little plastic provided. So I ordered this one and it is GREAT !!!

Put it together, all screws fit nicely, insert and cam/light attachment. I do install all screws with Blue Loctite. Even remove the screw on the arm to secure with LT as well. After learning my lesson on a ride, a light wiggled loose and was hanging by a thread, not literally but by a loose screw, I guess.

But putting this mount together, it is awesome as far as the Bryton mounting insert. I don't think my Garmin ever snapped into place like this one.

Very Happy!!! Just thought I'd mention it after hearing a few mention the poor connection of the Bryton mounts. Just thought you should know.

This seller is sold out, think I got the last one but ebay does have similar sellers with the same mount ad. I'm almost tempted to order another because it connects so well for a Bryton.

I would also suggest AVOIDING THE WEST BIKING model. It has a single screw style in the center of the insert. This allows the insert to spin while trying to connect the device into the 1/4 unit. Plus the camera attachment sits sideways because the mount screws are fore and aft. Who the heck designed this thing? I dunno but don't buy it!

I'm guessing you didn't understand all that I wrote. I have had a couple that turned out to be bad but SEVERAL that have turned out to be great. Especially for the price. Figure handlebar mounts, 2 for $12 that have been just as good as the $59 American made HB mount.

As mentioned, this Chinese mount in the op, has been the best connection so far for the Bryton. Even better than the $250 Garmin I have that came with original mounts.

I have tons of Chinese mounts, alum screws, clamps, and other items that are awesome for the price. Work very well for the price and much more cost efficient versus the overpriced American made things I have like the K-Edge mounts. $59 vs $10 ??? Heck, I can get about 6 Chinese mounts for the price of 1 American made and not to mention, not all the American made stuff is all that great.

That's good to know. I'm still on the original Bryton / Ryder 320 from a few years ago. In case those rubber rings fail, I know what to get!
Thanks

I used the rubber o rings on a Garmin years ago in 2012. I kept them clean and conditioned (moisturized) oping they wouldn't crack in the sun.

The Bryton base on this mount is the best and most original like fit. I have other Chinese mounts that work well but I do interchange the little plastic base mount fixtures from one to the other depending on which mount I prefer at the time. Using a mount for 14 years so I have a few. But the little plastic base mount on the posted mount is the best so far and the one that compares best to the original o ring mounted base you mention.

I have ordered other mounts that are nicer, very affordable but this little plastic base is the best!
