Specialized Roll 3.0
#1
I bought the Specialized Roll because I needed a step through. After many years of riding, I was finding that my balance is not what it used to be. I have no problem once I am on the bike. I tried several step throughs of different sizes including Treks. I found the Specialized Roll in a small to be the most comfortable. It has very fat tires. I ride on a paved trail in a large park. It is about 10 miles. It has a few hills that I work up to each season. I am concerned that the fat tire bike might make it harder to get up the hills. I just rode the bike down the block for the first time this season and it felt comfortable. I have considered changing to hybrid tires.

welcome to bike ride.com forums @doc51248 , the Roll 3.0 looks like a very stylish city bike , good choice! city bikes won't get 2nd looks but if I see a person riding one of these in my area I'd be sure to do a double take because it looks really nice for a city bike. Happy to see you take up riding again doc and we hope to hear more from your adventures here at bikeride forums

If the bike feels comfortable and gives you more confidence getting on and off, I'd stick with it for a while before changing the tires. The wider tires can make climbing feel a little slower, but they also provide extra stability, which sounds like your priority. If you still find the hills challenging after a few rides, you could experiment with a slightly higher tire pressure first before investing in hybrid tires...
