Has anyone toured with Discover France?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a bike touring trip in France next season and came across Discover France, which offers both guided and self-guided tours across various regions — Loire Valley, Provence, the ViaRhôna, and some mixed road/gravel itineraries.

I’m curious if anyone here has experience with them. Specifically:

Are the routes well-planned for touring (scenery, road quality, traffic)?

How good are the accommodations for cyclists?

Are their rental bikes suitable for multi-day touring, or is it better to bring your own?

Do they cater well to riders who like a mix of road and light gravel?

Any insights, photos, or trip reports would be really helpful as I decide whether to book with them.

Thanks in advance! Smile

Hey!
I’ve never used Discover France myself, but I’ve heard a couple of positive reviews from acquaintances. Did you make your choice yet?

Assuming you’ve probably already checked this review page: https://biketour-reviews.com/review/discover-france/
A few cyclists point out navigation challenges, but in general the reviews are very positive Smile

E.g., here’s a quote from a Loire Valley tour review + comment about the mapping: "We did the Loire Valley Tour. Accommodation, food, routes, preparation, people, overall experience etc. were great. And my god the baguettes in France are to die for – nothing even close is available in Alberta. My one issue is the guide books. The maps and route directions are generally inadequate. The maps are way too large scale to provide useful information except in a general way and direction sets are too skimpy. France is wonderfully beautiful country but the roads, alleys, lanes, and paths are very confusing and some level of cross checking information would make the day go smoother. Otherwise excellent trip, would do it again (now that I know where I’m going!)"
