I'm in Australia and don't believe that is legal here, actually heard of people getting fined. Is it okay to do in your country?

In areas I have resided it does not matterof fast the bike goes, but how fast it is driven. At 20 mph or less it 8s categorized as a bike and requires no license or registration; over 20 mph you need registration, license (specifically a motorcycle license), and helmet (unless paying liability waiver insurance). You can be cited for all three violations at once if stopped travelling over 20 mph. Also, at over 20 mph you must ride in normal lanes; no bike lanes, paths or trails where motorized vehicles are banned.
Not sure that the method described will work on more than a specific brand, model, or control unit. You would also be limited by the motor's power and gearing.
