Cleaning schedule and products
#1
My cleaning schedule used to be monthly while riding 2-3 days a week, ~200km. Now I've only been riding 500-600 km a month and I'm lazy to not clean regularly. I used a dry lube and all I do is is lube every two or three rides. Is that acceptable? I used dawn for cleaning too. Any good products out there? If I had a good bike stand I think I would clean it more.

Haha don't be lazy, cleaning regularly can extend the life of your bike. Reduction in riding distance and cleaning less is totally acceptable but periodically cleaning and lubing your bike will help prevent excessive buildup, but it may not offer the same level of protection as wet lubes in wet or muddy environments. Instead of soap, if you feel the need, try using degreasers and bike cleaners with a brush.

I've been using dawn dish soap as it's been shown to be a great degreaser. Does anyone have a better product? I've heard about some orange oil based products.
