Bikes not Bombs
#1
Hello,

I spent quite a few years in Boston and got involved with a non-profit called, Bikes Not Bombs (bikesnotbombs.org). They use bicycle as a vehicle for social change and truly are a wonderful place for kids, youth of underprivileged parts of Boston to learn about bicycle repair, confidence building and such. For adults, they had a program where one could learn bicycle maintenance, repair in exchange for volunteering your time with kids or training them with skills we had. They also fixed bikes and sent them to various parts of developing world such as Central and South America and parts of Africa. So, a wonderful organization to support, volunteer with.

Do let me know if you know of, work with similar NGOs in your town/city. Thanks

Our city has a Co-op very similar if not essentially the same.

Lots and lots of people involved to make it what it is.

This is in Cleveland? Good to know. Next time I visit, I can support a business that's doing something good to the community and the world in general..:-) What's the name of the Co-op?

It's called the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op.

We also have Ray's Indoor Bike Park, which is a very popular attraction that draws people from all across the country.
