Hi, new here because of a rethinking of bicycling after pandemic. Spent the last several yrs. tinkering with and riding older Schwinn middleweights. Decided to get with the times and on the first day of spring this year got a 2021 Giant Roam 2. I am still riding from my house and can ride between 10 and 20 miles that way but recently hauled bikes to a good rail trail nearby and honestly had one of my best rides ever, really good day. So now, planning on getting out for those rides when I can. Story to be continued...

Hi Mike,

Just catching up on looking at old threads and folk's bikes. Hope you have been able to get out and put some miles on your new bike. I just, after not doing so for 30 years, mounted some panniers to my race bike for some light touring after being inundated with work concerns and finally taking a couple weeks off. I kind of forgot about needing a proper touring frame for heel clearance at the pannier. My panniers are really more like "saddle bags" due to not being shaped with a rearward angled front face since they convert into backpacks when removed. I was curious if you have ever fit rear panniers to that frame and how much clearance you have if doing so. Thanks for any input.
Take care,
Jesper
