Can i replace Dia Compe 980 cantilever brakes with soemthing else
#1
I am restoring a Peugeot 1984 urban Express, It has -had- Dia Compe model 980 cantilever brakes, but somehow I misplaced them, don't ask I have searched everywhere! But since I now need to replace my brakes front and back do I have options, and what are they, The frame has posts for mounting the cantilever style and I would like to keep this restore at least close to original, but a bit of flexibility would be good and maybe there is a much better system that would work also.
thanks for any input in advance. Oh, original rims are stamped 26 x 1.50 I cleaned those up so will stay with those as well.
the bike will be used just around town, relatively flat area a few hills, but no need to be riding my Roubiax around town.
