What can we learn from Oslo?

i am just passing by with an article. Oslo in Norway is approx the same size as Portland. @Joe_W lived in Norway, am i correct? have you ever biked in Oslo city traffic, Joe?

Yes, I did live in Norway (Bergen, ca. 350.000 inhabitants in the greater urban area). My experience with Norwegian motorists is mixed. Like almost everywhere. In general most are sensible, and most Norwegians respect you for being outdoors. They prefer the utility cyclist over the lycra clad one, but things are improving a lot. Bike paths in Bergen have improved (in the outskirts, the centre... not so much, there's not too much space there).

I truly love biking infrastructure in Denmark. Accidents still happen in city traffic. I never biked in Norway, only by car.
