New York's green wave traffic lights for bicycles
#1
Reading material from the New York Times -> NYC implementing wave of green lights for cyclists to make the streets safer: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/23/nyregion/nyc-bike-commute-green-lights.html

> there have already been 25 cyclist fatalities in NY this year
> the highest since 1990
> 16 of them happened in Brooklyn
> car drivers will hit the red light if they go above 15mph
> it results in more even & predictable traffic flow
> no surprises meaning that car drivers are not happy
> SanFrancisco and Chicago have already calibrated traffic lights in favour of cyclists

Positive that some plans are being implemented. I recently read about the Denver's third cyclist fatality of 2019 and in that case the cyclist went over the red light :/

Streetsblog Denver is a good source for information about cyclist safety, pedestrians, transit and so on in my area.
